On the morning of October 20, 2022, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with I-Shou University, Taiwan (ISU). This cooperation aimed at diversifying international training programs, bringing more learning and scientific research opportunities for HUFI students, as well as expanding the lecturers and students exchange activities between the two Universities.

Attending the signing ceremony, on the side of HUFI were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh - Vice Presidentand the leaders, lecturers, and staffs from the Faculty of Tourism and Culinary Arts, as well as the Office of International Cooperation and Postgraduate Affairs. Dr. Chia-Kun Lee – Dean of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs (ISU) co-chaired the ceremony.

At the beginning of the ceremony, representatives from each side gave presentations to introduce about their university. According to Dr. Chia-Kun Lee, I-Shou University is located in Kaohsiung, which is the second largest city in Taiwan, and is known to have good weather all year round with a relatively low living cost. Dr. Chia-Kun Lee also added that ISU is the first university in the world to have three AACSB accredited colleges at the same time. ISU currently has 10 colleges offering different English taught courses with students from more than 37 different countries. In which, Tourism & Hospitality, Business Administration, Media & Entertainment Management, and Finance are 04 majors taught entirely in English, and are attracting most foreign students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh – HUFI’s Vice President also expressed her delight at the cooperation of the two universities, and hoped that this step would lead to further international joint training programs, scientific research, and human resource exchange activities between HUFI and ISU.

The MOU signing ceremony was a great success. In order for the cooperation programs to be implemented early and effectively, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hong Anh suggested the two sides to quickly organize a working session to come up with detailed plans for 2022 and the following years.
