On the afternoon of January 19, 2023, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and his delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI). Accompanying the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) delegation were Deputy Minister Dang Hoang An, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang, and some other subordinate units of the MOIT.

The HUFI president, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan stated that in 2022 HUFI achieved numerous achievements in the training area as HUFI has successfully reached the target in the first time. Besides, the admission quality is improved each passing year, attracting students from 61 provinces and cities. It is also the first year marking the maturity of the training, which is to run 03 doctoral programs.

In addition, scientific research has achieved remarkable results. Specifically, the number of scientific research projects at all levels and technology transfer increased in quantity, locality, and partners. In particular, the number of articles published in domestic and international journals has increased (2020 – 2021 academic year with 133 ISI/Scopus articles and 2021-2022 increased to 217 ISI/Scopus articles).

“Even though the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has seriously affected the university's source of revenue, with the sentiment that "taking care of the employees is the priority". As a result, it has supplemented income sources by job position and academic titles from September 1, 2022. Accordingly, significantly increasing income for staffs. It motivates staff members to strive to improve their qualifications and is an important factor to attracted highly qualified human resources to the university”. President Nguyen Xuan Hoan informed.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien recognized and appreciated the outstanding achievements as HUFI staffs and students have achieved in the last academic year. The Minister requested the HUFI to carry out the procedures for establishing the University Council in accordance with regulations.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023, on behalf of the Party Affairs Committee, leaders of the MOIT, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien sent New Year wishes for health, happiness, and success to all HUFI staffs who continue to gain many achievements in human resource training, meeting the human resource requirements for the construction and development of the society.
